Luiz Razia, who was confirmed earlier this month to be driving for Marussia in 2013, could lose his drive before he’s even started. The 23 year old is understood to be in some sort of financial trouble with the team; Razia was meant to be bringing potentially millions in sponsorship potential, but this could be hanging in the balance.

Marussia laid off previous driver Timo Glock last month to make way for Razia, but he has since signed for a drive in DTM this year, so it’s very unlikely he could come back. However, Jules Bianchi, who narrowly missed out on a drive at Force India yesterday, is a possible contender if Razia leaves; Marussia need an engine supplier for 2014, and Bianchi’s links with Ferrari (who are making V6 turbos for 2014) make him a driver the team could be eager to sign.

However, several drivers have been touted as possible replacements, including former Renault, McLaren and Caterham driver Heikki Kovalainen, who could also bring much needed experience to the team which Bianchi could not.
